Strewn across suburban parking lots, driveways, and crowded highways; you’ll notice a sea of sameness. Millions and millions of people drive transportation appliances that are designed to get you where you need to be, for as little money as possible and without major issues. Sure, this is an admirable calling for those that don’t have gasoline in their blood but we’re not speaking about those that swim in the sea of sameness here. No, we’re talking to those that see a vehicle as an expression of their own identity. Those that will never leave well enough alone because they don’t believe well enough exists. Those that see their car, truck, SUV, wagon, or whatever they’ve got their hands on as a starting point for something great.
STAND UP AND STAND OUT
There are those that love cars, and then there are those that love cars. Today, we’re speaking about that unique group of automotive enthusiasts that are not only high discerning for their own automobiles but form a legion of automotive knowledge that their family, friends, and co-workers rely on to make decisions about their own cars. At Vogue, we have never been okay just leaving well enough alone and it’s this commitment to the most passionate automotive enthusiasts that has defined our company and provided the baseline for sustainable, future growth.
We believe that our raving, custom car-loving fans are not only a crucial part of the future success of Vogue Tyre but of our valued dealer partners as well.
STANDING OUT: FROM THE BEGINNING
The story of Vogue and the story of custom car culture in America weave together as the automobile rose from being something only the elite could afford, to the deep love of vehicles our country has today. For Vogue Tyre, the passion for automobiles and automobile culture runs as deep as our 107-year heritage. In fact, the backstory of Vogue is centered around our founders creating a unique product that would go on to not only define the company as a whole but would be scribbled down in automotive lore as one of the most iconic styling elements ever conceived.
In 1914, a chauffeur in the Chicagoland area named Harry Hower was looking for a way to stand out from the throngs of other chauffeurs that were all vying for business. This was the dawn of the age of the automobile, an age that we’re still in this very day, and it was a cutthroat, dog eats dog mentality that only favored the brightest and the toughest. Harry joined forced with the Woodbury family (one of his clients) based on the idea of helping other chauffeurs to stand out in an increasingly crowded marketplace. In 1919, the whitewall tyre was born and blessed with the name “Vogue” by Margaret Woodbury herself.
After a successful expansion to Los Angeles in 1926, Vogue tyres started to gain the attention of the world via the prominence of the rapidly expanding Hollywood film industry. Everyone, who was anyone had Vogue tyres on their personal or chauffeur-driven cars. One could argue this era is what began to define what we’ve come to now know as the custom car. Even during the Great Depression, Vogue tyres were featured on the custom, bespoke Dusenbergs owned Hollywood actors and actresses who were looking to stand out from others vying for attention.
As Vogues history marched on, their custom products continued to be a part of the American luxury car landscape via legendary brands like Cadillac. If you were looking to stand out, a set of Vogue Tyres on your Cadillac meant that you had made it and that you appreciated fine craftsmanship and modern style.
Our core value of offering a unique product could have led to our downfall if we didn’t adapt and change along with our great country. From our ‘Gold Streak’ tire of the muscle car era to the blackwall Signature V that we offer today, Vogue has applied its knack for standing out to every single one of its offerings and our raving fans are taking notice.
How much do people love our tyres? We’ve developed a nearly cult-like following amongst those that are looking to stand out in a crowded world with their own beloved vehicles. Much like Vogue, these passionate, automotive gearheads demand more than just stunning good looks, they demand performance and quality as well.
THE ENTHUSIAST EDGE
Throughout the history of Vogue, our passion for standing out with a truly world-class product has allowed us to build a legion of loyal, raving fans that often runs generations deep. This passion for creating the best tyres is an easy match for those that have gasoline and car polish running deeply through their body and would never be fine with staying stock. No, the desire to stand out and stand up is part of what makes creating your own custom car such a draw for the most discerning automotive enthusiasts.
The automotive enthusiast is a completely different animal than your typical tyre buyer. They’re not content purchasing a tyre that will simply get the job done or cost the least amount of money. No, they’re interested in purchasing tyres that will perform to the highest levels of both performance and durability. Vogue Tyres hit this niche with precision, by offering the finest, hand crafted tyres in the world that are also backed up by an industry-leading warranty. For those extra enthusiastic customers who are looking to stand out even more, our Custom Built Radials meld classic Vogue looks with modern technology in a way that no other brand can touch.
For automotive enthusiasts, the passion for high-performance is rarely relegated to one vehicle. Most discerning automotive enthusiasts have more than one vehicle in their household and often have vehicles that have very different missions. The enthusiast’s daily driver may be a family-hauling SUV with a beautiful set of custom wheels and Vogue tyres but their weekend ride could be a 1960’s muscle car, rugged old Jeep, or high-performance sports car like a Porsche. Wouldn’t it be great to engage with a Vogue fan who also happens to have other vehicles in their stable that you could provide tyres for? This is the power of the enthusiast.
The power of the enthusiast’s influence can also be found in the power of recommendation. As automotive enthusiasts ourselves, we are often subject to all matter of questions from people who are not knowledgeable in the industry: What’s car should I buy? Where should I get my car fixed? How do you fix this weird noise? And, yes. Where should I buy my tyres? Catering to the custom car-loving, enthusiast audience can have a ripple effect on those that rely on these unique car lovers for advice and recommendations.
We’ve spent over a century building a unique type of tyre for a unique type of customer and we believe these unique, gasoline-fueled individuals can be a pillar of your business’s success story.
